What is time and space?
The bomb was dropped on Friday, June 4th, 2021. It all started with a text from my wife that she wanted to talk to me after work. She let me know that she was in our room and just finished a therapy session.
What time and space really means is that she was not in love with me anymore and wanted someone else to fill the roll I was not living up to.
Once she finally started making more money than me, it was clear that she lost all respect. Never taking into account that I helped her achieve all her goals during our 20 years together.
Looking back, I first blamed her therapist recommending that my wife should start the separation process immediately and start seeing other men as soon as possible.
I now believe that she was already deep in an emotional affair, or several by that point.
how I coped before this news
I started spending most evenings in my workshop working on projects and drinking too much wine, avoiding my wife and the boring nightly schedule of Judge Judy and nagging about not doing all the house work for her.
I tried so hard to please her for so long that I had just given up at this point. Our communication styles were not compatible from the beginning.
I WASN'T THE PERFECT HUSBAND
I worked full time, leading a team in a great career as the Director of Digital Marketing. I was far from a degenerate, loser that only played video games and ate Cheetos all day.
After years of a dead bedroom marriage, I was starting to become resentful and gave up on trying so hard to please a woman that could never be satisfied. I let go of my hobbies, health, and basically my overall purpose in the world.
I should have never let that happen. Lesson learned.
